Just a quick update on the P90X Challenge.
I'm in the middle of Week 3. I weighed in Monday morning at 199 pounds so things are going well. I have been able to increase some of the weight and reps with the arms, shoulders and leg workouts. The chin ups are still a struggle and are being done with the chair as a spotter. Hopefully I will graduate from that sooner rather than later.
After week 3 there is a recovery week so I will post the first months results next week to have it documented.
Today was the Cardio workout which is a lot of fun and tomorrow is Yoga which is much more difficult than I expected when I started. After a few sessions though it is becoming one of my favorite.
Ciao for now

The Start of Week #2
OK,
So week #1 went without a hitch. Quite a few early 6am mornings to get the workouts in but to tell you the truth I didn't mind them that much and I'm starting to actually look forward to it. Last Week Tracey and I didn't really do everything we were supposed to. We didn't keep track of our reps and weights (we were just trying to get through the workouts) and we didn't take our before pictures (that was probably because we just didn't want to).
With that said I had Tracey take mine last night and as soon as I figure out how to put them up on this thing I think I'm going to. Why you ask? Humiliation? Maybe. Motivation? Possibly. Boredom and for shits and giggles? Most likely.
That said I started this process last Monday which was June 14th. I was 204 lbs that morning. I weighed myself this morning and I was a lean and mean 201 lbs, haahaa. Oh well, I'll take what I can get.
Monday is the "Core Synergistics" video which is basically a crap load of push ups, lunges and core work. Again I haven't kept track of the weights and reps for these things yet but Tracey and I will be starting tomorrow morning so I will begin to post those as well.

Time for a Change
OK, here we go.
I'm 31 years old, I just got married & I'm in arguably the worst shape of my life.
In high school I played every sport under the sun. Fell in love with basketball and cross country running and actually got pretty good too. My best time for a 5k as an 18 year old was 17:49. Last year I ran a 5k and didn't even break 30 minutes. Needless to say my athletic ability has seemed to deteriorate for over a decade now.
... It's time for a change.
About 7 years ago I realized I have low blood sugar and I have been the victim of passing out during long runs or workouts. I know part of this is hereditary because my father and grandfather have suffered through the same situations. I also know that just as big a part is my own health and lifestyle. One I can control and one I cannot.
This blog is going to provide a place for me to vent, post my results and hopefully keep me going until I reach my goals.
For right now I have three for the next three months.
1. To complete the 90 day P90X challenge.
2. To improve my health and stamina.
3. To reduce my weight to 185 (I'm starting out at 204 - YIKES) to start
Not "IF" but "WHEN" this is completed I will post my next set of goals and continue to push myself until I reach those. Come along for the ride will you?
